Prevention Tips – 3 C’s

Prevent the Spread

It is hard to avoid being exposed to COVID-19. If you think you may have COVID-19, or may have been exposed, it is best to take precautions to prevent the spread. Please review Steps to Prevent the Spread, which includes tips on home isolation if you or someone in your house is sick, home cleaning, monitoring your health and caring for yourself at home.

The 3 C’s – Clean, Cover, Contain

Clean – Always clean your hands frequently, including scrubbing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand cleaner. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Soap and water should be used frequently; especially if hands are visibly dirty.
  • Hand sanitizers MUST contain at least 60-95% alcohol to be effective in killing germs.
  • Wipe down frequently touched surfaces (e.g. keyboard, telephone, door handles).

Cover – Always cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or upper shirt sleeve (not hands) when coughing and sneezing.

Contain – Always contain the spread of germs by avoiding close contact with others who are sick.

  • Social Distancing: To help slow down or stop the potential spread of illness, limit large groups of people coming together.

IMPORTANT: If you have a fever of 100.4 or greater or acute respiratory illness (i.e. coughing, shortness of breath) you must not report to work. If you arrive at work showing symptoms you will be sent home immediately. Employees should NOT return to work until they are fever-free for more than 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
