A Message to Our People
With the current state of our country and these very challenging times, I just want to thank all of you for your unwavering commitment and dedication to “Be the Best” as we do our part to mitigate the spread of this Virus.
As the safety of our People and Customers is our first consideration, I also want to thank you for being vigilant within our Communities and compassionate with our Customers. Your caring spirit and determination to meet our customer’s essential needs and keep them safe, is inspiring. Thank you for your CAN DO attitudes!
Thank you also for sharing your thoughts and ideas as our people do have the answers. As a result of your feedback, we are continuing to further modify our Store Operations for your continued safety and that of our customers. To reduce exposure, we will now be offering curbside greeting and assistance to encourage our customers to remain in their vehicles during most of their visit. This will also minimize our customer’s use of our showrooms, which promotes social distancing.
We are strongly encouraging customers to reduce their time in our stores by going on-line to buy product or request essential services and book an appointment time.
We are also empowering our stores to handle non-essential services in a more inviting, easy and safe way. If a customer expresses concerns about deferring a service they feel they need, you are empowered to do the right thing in these situations.
Attached is our customer facing communication that will be posted on our web site this weekend, incorporating the modifications I outlined above. Please let me know how we can serve you better. Your feedback is valued and appreciated.
Lastly, our dedicated Coronavirus team members continue to work around the clock helping us to stay on top of this very fluid situation. I cannot thank this team enough for their 24/7 dedication and relentless focus on the safety of our People and our Customers. Thank you!

A Message to Our Customers
From Our Discount Tire Family To Yours
The Safety of our People and Customers is always our first consideration. In order to promote the health and well being of our Customers, our People and our Communities, Discount Tire is taking steps to help prevent the spread of the Virus.
See Store Closures
As of March 18, 2020, our stores across the U.S. are prioritizing those services that are most critical to your safety. These essential services include, but are not limited to:
- Free flat tire repairs
- Free tire air pressure maintenance
- Replacement of worn and damaged tires & wheels
We request that all other services be deferred, if possible, during this pandemic to reduce exposure to one another and help protect both the safety of our Customers and our People. If you have any concerns about deferring services for your vehicle, we can perform the work for your peace of mind. Services being deferred include, but are not limited to:
- Tire Rotation and Balancing
- Non-state required snow tire changeovers
To help you stay safe, Customers are encouraged to reduce the time spent in our stores by going online to purchase product, request essential services and book an appointment time. We can help you find the right tires online with Treadwell, your personal tire guide.
Also, we are offering curbside greeting and assistance to encourage our Customers to remain in their vehicle during most of their visit. We are also encouraging our customers to pull their own vehicles into and out of our bays.
We have also taken precautionary steps to provide a safe and healthy experience at Discount Tire, including increased cleaning and sanitizing procedures in our stores along with minimizing the use of our showrooms to promote social distancing. Additionally, we ask that customers visit our Stores only if they’re feeling well.

What is Discount Tire doing?
Continually monitoring and evaluating the situation, and following guidance from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Not Feeling Well?
If you have an upper respiratory illness, please contact your Primary Care Physician for further evaluation. COVID-19 testing can be performed through CDC-designated laboratories.
To avoid exposure within Emergency Rooms and Urgent Cares, Virtual Visits are available to those enrolled in the Company’s health plan. Virtual Visit physicians are trained and equipped to assess COVID-19, the flu and other minor health issues.
What if I experience a financial hardship because of COVID-19?
The Bruce T. Halle Assistance Fund (BTHAF) provides basic assistance to employees who incur extraordinary expenses as a result of disasters, public health events, or other emergency hardships. Assistance may be granted for necessities such as shelter, medical bills above what insurance will cover, or other unforeseen expenses caused by the disaster, public health events or similar circumstance.
