Measuring Success

Benefits to Business

Being Trusted Experts with TPMS increases Customer Delight.

Being Trusted Experts with TPMS increases Customer Delight. In addition to providing our customers with Peace of mind that we are putting their safety first, you will Sell More, Sell Better, and Manage Expenses (by selling TPMS sensors, reducing bay delays, and reducing returns for service.)

Standards and Targets

Review these reports to measure progress:

  • TPMS Report
  • Product Analysis and Sales History reports (on POS)

Cadence for Accountability

TPMS is a part of our Customer Experience Strategy.

Follow up with your team daily, just as you do for CES by shadowing, listening in on customer conversations, identifying defects during VTV, etc.

Setting Up the WIN

Working Through Your People

Apprentice Tech/Sales team:

Review Visit the Vehicle. Focus on identifying the condition of the TPMS light and valve stems. Corroded stems may cause the sensors to be seized and unserviceable, and a blinking TPMS light when the ignition is turned on indicates there is a system malfunction. Diagnose the issue using the scan tool in the parking lot, whenever possible.

Crew Chiefs:

Remind the Crew Chief that they are the last line of defense in identifying a blinking TPMS light while pulling a vehicle into a bay. Have them inform their Service Coordinator of a blinking TPMS light not identified on the VTV or Work-order.

Service Coordinator:

Ensure every vehicle that requires a post-service TPMS reset is completed.

Disciplined Action

Now here are some ways to support your team:

  • Lead by example. If you do it, others will follow.
  • Communicate to your team and your customers with conviction. When you believe in the value of an operational TPMS system, so will they.
  • Give your team opportunities to practice challenging situations. This is the best way to increase their skill and confidence.
  • Refer to TPMS notes and information in the POS and Bartec. Make sure everyone understands where this information is and how to use it.
