This increases our customer trust and delight, and supports our strategy of providing the most Inviting, Easy, and Safe tire purchase experience in the world.

Using Treadwell with CES ensures that we treat each customer as an individual and provide a consistent recommendation experience, no matter what store our customer is at, no matter whether it's their first time at Discount Tire or their 50th.

Your goal is to incorporate Treadwell with every customer when appropriate, utilizing the tool to personalize the data and the decision for the individual you are dealing with.

  • Treadwell Conversion %: Measures the percentage of qualified tires sold using Treadwell. Web-originated invoices and 1-tire invoices are excluded from the reports.
  • Qualified tires are defined as tires existing in Treadwell that fall under any market segment with the exception of Winter tires (WINT), Doughnut / non-traditional spare tires (SP), Trailer tires (TRL), ATV/UTV tires (AUTV), and Lawn mower / golf cart / specialty tires (CLG).
  • Treadwell Quality Score: Measures the quality-of-use of Treadwell with customers by scoring Treadwell sessions according to how well they adhere to the Treadwell Best Practice.
  • Treadwell Mismatch %: Measures the percentage of tires sold using Treadwell where the tire(s) sold on the finalized invoice does not match the tire(s) selected in Treadwell and originally added to the invoice. The calculation is Mismatched Treadwell Tires Sold / Total Treadwell Tires Sold

Work with your people to ensure that they execute on the 3 Phase strategy and use Treadwell for every product recommendation involving the vehicle fitment guide.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement:
    • Identify areas of opportunity with your manager to use Treadwell as a recommendation tool (not a Twinquiry).
    • Use Store Business Review (CTA), select individuals, set goals,
    • Gather/locate training material and assign work prior to kick off.
    • Schedule time to train or work in sales role together.
    • Coach in the moment, celebrate/recognize improvement, and create a positive use of the tool.

Disciplined Action

We are using Treadwell for the customers benefit. To use Treadwell effectively, we must remember to treat each customer as an individual and listen to their needs through the whole journey. Understand and follow the 3 Phase CES and execute this with Treadwell.

  • Phase 1: Make sure to ask quality questions and gather information about the customer's immediate and true needs to be able to identify the best persona for them.
  • Phase 2: Educate the customer at the know your numbers board about their safety.
  • Phase 3: Make a recommendation supported by the information gathered in Phase 1 CES. Continue to listen to the customers priorities and feedback as you go through your recommendations. Don't be afraid to edit the persona or priorities if you gain new information in this phase.
