The Governor of California has issued a Disaster Declaration for the following counties in California: Alameda, Butte, Glenn, Lake, Mendocino, Monterey, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, and Sutter
For members of the Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield health plan (Discount Tire Michigan and Tire Rack) who reside in California, the following waivers will be put in place:
- Paying Out-of-Network Claims as In-Network
- Medical Authorization Requirements Waived
The time frame for this waiver is February 4, 2024 through May 3, 2024. This applies only to Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield members.

- Follow the advice of your local officials, including evacuation instructions.
- Do not return to your home until authorities state it is safe.
- Check in with your family and friends regularly.
- If you suffer property damage/loss, be sure to take photos to help with insurance claims.
- Prepare for future disasters by creating a disaster plan and emergency kit.
